Europe in Review

Here's recap of my entire trip. Hopefully this will be fairly short, but I did do a lot. I have only included the fun stuff. Although I'm not writing about it here, I did some school work during the semester.

January:
9-10: Traveled from Philly to London to Rome, met my cousins for the first time, hung out with some people I met on the plane
11: Met my roommates; they seem cool
12: First trip to the market, walking tour of Roma, first gelato (amazing)
13: Went to the bars for the first time (in Campo dei Fiori)
15: Went to mass at St. Peter's
17: Bought my first Italian leather bag for about $15 (I still have and use it as a laptop case)
19: Bought Italian leather shoes for 19 Euros; sat on a bench in front of a McDonald's drinking
27-29: Geneva to hang out with Becky and her her boy; first time in a hostel, went to a sex shop and fed ducks coconut

February:
3-5: Florence--climbed 460+ steps to the top of the Duomo, saw the David and other art, ate great Tuscan food
11-13: Hung out with Beck and Richie--Colosseo, Palentine Hill (where we got in trouble for trying to get oranges)
12: Lunch at my Italian cousins' house--awesome food
14: Valentine's Day with the girls--after dinner we exchanged gifts
17-19: Torino (Olympics)--Odd B&B, Ski jumping, missing the train, 65 euro cab ride, scalping curling tickets with Californian, catching puck at USA vs. Slovakia hockey game
23: Courtney's B-day--'80s party and going out in our dresses
24-26: Venice for Carnivale--Court being sick on metro and train, masks, penguins, glass blowing, Guggenheim museum, overcrowded restuarant, drunk waitress, hot wine, gondola ride, wheels falling off luggage
26-27: 14-hour train ride (Venice to Prague)--6 "bed" cabin, no pillows, no blankets, no snack car, annoying teenagers
27-28: Prague--Castle, Coffee Heaven, cross-bow, torture chamber, hot dogs, Tex-Mex, martinis, snow

March:
1-3: Budapest--Buda side, Pest side, Hungarian Goulash, Prime, oldest Synagogue in Europe, STEX, Turkish Baths (Ugly, old, naked women), handle falling off luggage
4: Rome Sweet Rome
4-6: Hanging out with Jay--Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Colosseo, Forum, Palentine Hill
9: My Birthday--Flew to London (couldn't understand the signs that were writting in English), got interrogated for trying to stay in the country for 12 hours, dinner with Jay
10-11: Palermon--Gorgeous, translating for hostel owner and Scottish girls, apt-like hostel room, being rushed through a meal, amazing canoli, American-like pizza, rain
12: 12-hour train ride--pillows and blankets, random italian guys in our cabin
12-17: Celie--Villa Borghese, Piazza del Popolo, Piazza Navona, St. Pual's, karaoke, 24-hr bakery, ass-crack-of-dawn trip to the airport
24-26: Siena and Florence--amazing Tuscan food, amazing company (got to know a Brother better), art by Donatello, Michelangelo, Giotto, and Cimabue; realizing how lucky I was to have the roommates and the friends I had
31: Beach

April:
1: Saw and took pics of the sites at night
4: Computer issues that ended with me paying $170 for a $70 chord.
7-9: Sociology trip: wine museum, Parmasaean Cheese museum, textile museum, Fabriano paper museum, Ferrari Factory
14: Good Friday--Stations of the Cross with the Pope at the Colosseum
16: Easter--mass at St. Peter's, dinner with my family, filleting fish, toga party
17: Beach for Easter Monday--kinda chilly and drizzly, jumping
18: Last dinner with the six of us
21: Good-bye cappuccini, Botticcella's, scholar's pub, lots of alcohol
22: Castel Sant'Angelo, Last minute shopping, a final dinner in Roma
23: Lunch and dinner at my cousins'
24: Traveled home, went to wawa, went to Big-L (diner) and hung out April, Josh, and Whit.
